So, around this time last year one of the most surreal and strangely incredible things happened. I ended up live on BBC Radio 5 Live. That may not be a bit thing to you guys, but for me it was HUGE. It all started a year ago back in April. I had moved back to my uni city of Manchester, although I had some family around, I lost most of my uni friends to their hometowns. So, when I moved back I didn’t really have many people to hang out with. After a difficult relationship, I lost a lot of confidence and really found it hard to go out ad meet new people. It was daunting and scary, and I felt like I had forgotten how to interact. This is where The Girl Gang comes in. My friend was heading to a speed-mating event, and suggested I came along. You can read all about the experience here. Fast forward a couple of months and I clicked with a girl I met, Rebecca. We kept momentum going by heading out the next day, lets say lots of wine and dancing and work with a hangover and our friendship was solidified. We hung out weekly, just doing the normal thing friends do. We had the same morals, ethics, beliefs and formed a strong bond! This had not gone unnoticed and the BBC were doing a piece on the benefits of speed-mating, and we so happened to be a great success story. We ended up filming a video and then were brought into studio to have a live conversation! CRAZY! You can check it below.
