In the past weeks I have had so much fun using Love Cocoa’s devilishly dark letterbox collection in my cooking and recipes. Not to mention really enjoyed just indulging in some of their bars too. Not everything has to go into baking right. As we previously mentioned in our Milk Letterbox Collection post. Jame’s Cadbury set up Love Cocoa wanting to share the dream of his iconic ancestors. So he set out to create high quality chocolate. His ambition was to provide something ‘absolutely pure, therefore the best’, delivered straight to your door.
Love Cocoa is created with the finest of goods. Wherever they can it uses organic, homegrown and natural ingredients from the top producers. You can tell when opening the box. They looking a high quality, as if created with care. In each box lies three gorgeous looking bars with some modern artistic paper wrapping. In this post we look at their devilishly dark collection. As we have previously stated in our superfoods post, dark chocolate is actually good for you, and good for fat loss. Therefore meaning you can enjoy this collection guilt free.
Made with the very best seasalt in the business. Maldon. You can really taste the luxury in the bar. I have always been a fan of adding a sprinkling of salt to a bar of silky dark chocolate. However this just takes it to another level. The bar is super smooth, and with subtle soft hints of sea salt making its way through tickling your tongue. Sometimes dark chocolate can be quiet bitter and this has a rating of 70% so the added salt just takes the edge off. This bar was so addictive and indulgent we ate it in one go. Ooooops.
This pure 70% organic chocolate was utterly indulgent. Said to hold the subtle floral, blackcurrant and spice profile of the recently rediscovered Cacao Nacional. Its cocoa beans are plucked form the very best. This bar was very rich, yet didn’t hold those strong bitter flavours, making it that much more enjoyable. We got experimental with this bar and whipped up a peanut butter nice cream. Also as these bars are gluten free and dairy free we made a chocolate orange popcorn cake to compliment it.
Mint chocolate has always been one of my favourite. Its always super cool and refreshing, and doesn’t give you that sickly taste. Mint has always been a good partner for a nice smooth bar of dark chocolate, and there is no difference here. Made with the very best mint from the Summerdown estate, you get these fresh bursts of mintyness flowing through the bar and popping out at you. As I am a particular fan of mint I incorporated half the bar into an indulgent mint pudding.
